On Saturday the 25th of January 2025, we will update iChemistry with minor feature and stability improvements, alongside the following more significant changes explained here below.
New UI design for sidebar
We’re excited to introduce a redesigned sidebar in iChemistry, bringing a fresh look and improved usability:
- New Menu Buttons and Icons for a modern feel.
- Collapsible Sidebar for a customizable workspace.
The detailed list button has been moved below product search results, allowing you to work in standard list mode seamlessly.
Inventory list notes

Navigate to Tools > Inventory
Inventory notes offer a centralized way to manage and share information, eliminating the need for separate email communication within the organization. The function ensure that all relevant documentation is easily accessible in one place, streamlining workflows and enhancing clarity.
Inventory notes allow you to attach product-specific information directly to departments.
Inventory notes are designed to meet a diverse range of requirements, including:
- Communication: Chemical controllers can efficiently inform staff about required actions on specific products.
- Location Details: Notes can specify exactly where a chemical product is stored or used.
- Instructions: Provide guidance on locating or handling a product, such as when it’s part of a kit.
- Phase-Out Tracking: Mark products that are being phased out and suggest alternatives.
- Training Needs: Highlight if specific training is required for safe product use.
- Usage Tracking: Document when a product was last inventoried and its specific use within a department.
- Ordering Instructions: Include any specific requirements for ordering the product.

Republish button in risk assessment
Navigate to Tools > Risk assessment
We’re introducing an update to streamline how you manage “Too Old” risk assessments, making the process quicker and more intuitive.
Simplified workflow: Previously, updating required finding the review date, marking it as done, and then signing. Now, simply:
- Open the “Too Old” risk assessment.
- Click Republish.
- Add a comment and revision date will change
These updates save time and make managing outdated risk assessments more straightforward, keeping your records accurate and up to date.
New UI list for expiring and recently expired risk assessment
Navigate to Overview > Risk assessment that has expired within 6 months
We’re introducing a refreshed user interface for expiring and recently expired risk assessments, now aligned with the design of our standard iChemistry lists.
- Search all fields: Quickly locate specific risk assessments by searching across all available fields.
- Column search: Focus your search within specific columns for more targeted results.
- Advanced filters: Refine your view with powerful filtering options to meet your needs.
This updated UI ensures a consistent and efficient experience, making it easier to manage your expired risk assessments.
iChemistry application flex list

We are excited to introduce the latest updates to our application module, designed to provide a clearer and more intuitive process overview for applications. With this update, tracking the progress of your applications is easier than ever.
Here’s what’s new:
- Enhanced step visibility: When you access the "In Progress" tab under the applications overview, you’ll now see exactly where each application stands in the approval or rejection process.
- Streamlined workflow: The improved layout gives you a better understanding of the steps involved, ensuring you stay informed at every stage.
This update is part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing flexibility and usability in our applications. We hope these changes make managing your applications simpler and more efficient.
Activity log in product application flex
Navigate to Tools > Applications > Select Application > Activity Log
We’re pleased to introduce improvements to the application flex feature with a new activity log within individual applications, providing greater transparency and detail in the application process.
Here’s what’s new:
- Details: The activity log now displays who approved or rejected the application and the exact date of approval and rejection.
- Status updates: Easily view whether the application was approved or rejected.
- Comments from decisions: Previously unavailable, comments from the decision-making process are now visible directly in the activity log, offering valuable context for approvals or rejections.
These updates ensure you have all the key details at your fingertips, making it easier to track and understand the progress of each application.
WPI list new layout

We are excited to announce the latest updates to our WPI, designed with a fresh look that makes it easier than ever to filter, search, and organize your information. While maintaining the same powerful functionality.
Now, all the details for one department are consolidated in one easy-to-navigate list. Here are the key highlights of the update:
- Four new tabs: Clearly differentiate the WPI with tabs showing which are published, which are incomplete or need attention, and which have been archived.
- Red indicators: Important areas that still require action are now highlighted with red indicators, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
- Enhanced filters and sorting: You can now filter and sort by various criteria such as trade name or group, making it easier to find exactly what you need.
In addition, the updated design aligns perfectly with the rest of our system, providing a seamless and familiar user experience.
We hope these updates help you manage your risk assessments with greater ease and efficiency.
Open access - Option to download WPI on product item
Navigate to Settings > Configuration > Open access
We’re introducing a new feature that allows you to download the WPI document directly from the product in Open Access.
This enhancement ensures easier access to essential documents, streamlining your workflow and providing the information you need with a single click.
