This add-on lets your warehouse, ERP, or procurement system update your chemical inventory in iChemistry automatically — adding products, removing them, and adjusting quantities — without anyone needing to open iChemistry manually.
⭐ This is an add-on — not included in the standard subscription. Inventory & Amounts is activated separately after agreement with Intersolia.
Two inventory states
Chemicals in iChemistry can be tracked in two ways:
| State | What it means |
|---|---|
| In Use | Products actively used on a production line, in a lab, or at a workstation. These drive risk assessments and safety documentation requirements. |
| In Storage | Products held in a warehouse or storeroom, not yet in active use. Important for site-wide hazard reporting and compliance. |
A product can be both In Use and In Storage at the same time, with separate quantities for each.
Six available actions
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Add a product | Register a product as in use or in storage at a specific department. |
| Increase a quantity | Tell iChemistry the amount of a product has gone up by a set number. |
| Decrease a quantity | Tell iChemistry the amount has gone down. Cannot go below zero. |
| Set an exact quantity | Override the current amount with a specific figure — ideal after a stock count. |
| Remove a product | Mark that a product is no longer in use or in storage at a department. |
| Target any department | Every action targets a specific site or department, keeping inventory granular. |
Common uses
| Use case | Description |
|---|---|
| ERP / production sync | Your production system tracks chemical consumption per batch. Quantities decrease automatically in iChemistry as chemicals are used. |
| Warehouse management | When a delivery arrives or goods are issued, iChemistry updates at the same moment — no separate entry needed. |
| Procurement integration | When a purchase order completes, newly ordered chemicals are automatically added to the right department's inventory. |
| Stock reconciliation | After a physical count, push exact verified quantities directly into iChemistry — correcting any drift in one go. |
Important to know before getting started
Products must already exist in iChemistry. The connection can only work with products already registered in your iChemistry account. Products cannot be created from scratch through this connection.
Article numbers must be mapped manually. Each article number in your system must be matched to the correct product in iChemistry before the integration goes live. Suppliers do not provide unique identifiers on safety data sheets, so this matching must be done manually.
Units are fixed per product. Once a quantity unit (kg, litres, tonnes, or pieces) is set for a product, the same unit must be used for all subsequent updates.
